Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 8 years related experience.

Position Purpose:
This position leads the Gulfstream Quality organization in its responsibilities for the development, type certification, production certification and transition to full rate production for Gulfstreams new model aircraft for which a Program Directive outlines specific program objectives and milestones.

Position is responsible for all elements of Quality for new model aircraft or amended type design programs. Must effectively integrate the resources of Quality for program focus yet assure effective and efficient transfer of both skill and knowledge to the sustaining organizations upon achieving production certificate.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  1. Selection and oversight of suppliers to assure high quality & timely component deliveries. Ensure suppliers quality organizations are prepared and have planned quality resources and systems. Provide onsite support to challenged suppliers when necessary.
  2. Collaborate with Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) organization and Engineering Authorized Representatives (EARs) to develop and define conformity plans. Coordinate with ODA / Gulfstream / Suppliers to complete conformities. Define and develop the Inspection Authorized Representatives (IARs) to complete conformities. Coordinate the inspection of flight and ground test articles. Coordinate all experimental certificates with MIDO/ODA and assure the transition to standard C of As upon completion of the type certificate. Plan and complete all activities for issuance of the Production Limitation Record (PLR) with ODA / MIDO.
  3. Ensure Material Review Board (MRB) and manufacturing/quality planning processes are in place to assure that the configuration and non-conformance management processes are established.
  4. Coordinate, plan and execute R&D and Precontract budgets and distribute to responsible departments consistent with program and operations objectives. Monitor overall performance and adjust as requirements emerge.
  5. Work closely with each Business Units management to produce a consistent end quality product. Recognize and respect the reporting relationships appropriate for each manager and challenges of a matrix role with personnel while meeting Quality and Program objectives. Lead Quality responsibilities for the program and collaborate with program, engineering, ODA, operations, product support and quality personnel in a matrix environment to achieve program and quality objectives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Demonstrated detailed knowledge, application, experience and responsibility for 14 CFR part 21 quality systems, type certification, and production certificate regulatory requirements. .
  2. Previous quality responsibilities for both type and production certificate are essential to successfully meet company objectives.

A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer.
