The Director, CAR-T Strategic Program Lead plays a crucial role in leading and overseeing transformational initiatives focused on ensuring long-term success and competitiveness of the CAR-T platform. This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, project management expertise, strong business acumen, and a deep understanding of organizational dynamics. The primary objective is to drive continuous improvement, foster innovation, and achieve operational excellence across various functions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership across the organization, including areas of Advanced Therapies, site manufacturing operations, global and site supply chain, quality and commercial operations to align improvement programs goals focused on improving costs, operations, patient experience, and turnaround time.
  • Lead matrix and/or direct teams responsible for the execution of improvement programs.
  • Establish clear goals, objectives, and performance metrics for each program.
  • Monitor and evaluate program progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among different departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach.
  • Implement change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of implemented initiatives.
  • Present informed decisions to leadership and key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and organizational alignment.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of improvement programs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to bring innovative solutions to the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to contribute ideas for efficiency and effectiveness.


Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent degree in business, management, or a related field ; (Master's degree preferred).


Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, and operational excellence.
  • Candidate must have a solid track record of delivering transformational programs.
  • Must be comfortable to working in a matrixed environment, both within Johnson & Johnson and with our CAR-T collaboration partner, Legend Biotech
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Capable of dealing with ambiguity, working and leading in a matrix environment
  • Ability to resolve complex problems and manage difficult stakeholder situations
  • Ability to lead the development of critical path analyses and support scenario planning
  • Demonstrated experience leading transformational change
  • Relationship/influencing savvy
  • Eager to build effective and efficient relationships/partnerships internally and with Legend Biotech
  • Communicates effectively with people at all levels, including the ability to understand their priorities, and to earn their respect and trust, along with the willingness to provide them with the best decisions in time-sensitive situations
  • Ability to balance day to day operational demands with the need to extend and improve the planning horizon to prepare strategically to manage future demands.


Preferred:

  • Advanced training in operational excellence tools (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)


Other:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, internationally and domestic


The anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000-$244,950 USD. The base salary range listed is based on a US pay scale and may be adjusted based on the successful candidate's geographic location

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal, and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
