Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Director, Finance will provide financial advice, analysis and leadership by serving as a technical expert and liaison between operations managers/ directors and financial services. Oversees and develops operating plans and financial and operations solutions that promote an environment of effective decision-making, revenue enhancement, cost efficiency, and sound business practices. Partners with other leaders in the organization to develop and package products and services catered to meet the specific needs of Financial and operational Reporting at Ballad Health. Ensures the effective and timely delivery of quality financial/information products and services to Ballad customers, including the development of return-on-investment analyses that support and validate operations decisions. Supports the organization in the development of the annual operating budgets and assists in the seamless integration of these plans with the operating goals of hospital business units. Supports the Ballad Financial Leaders in working on various subjects including month end close process and variance analysis, and other ad hoc requirements. Assist in creation of a training program to further develop staff members in the various analyst and accounting positions. Develop and manage the department's standard processes and tools. Integrate the use of financial data in the overall decision-making process throughout the organization.
Develop and maintain Operating and Capital forecasting plans along with the annual Budget. Lead the organization in developing financial strategy and support the mission through effective implementation of financial processes throughout the organization. Assist the VP, Finance in developing a roadmap for financial opportunities and execute on strategies. Works as a financial consultant to leaders on various projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, required. Master's degree strongly preferred. At least seven (7) years' experience in finance or accounting, with at least three (3) years professional experience in healthcare, required. At least one (1) year of leadership experience required, three (3) or more preferred. Background in healthcare consulting or financial analysis is strongly preferred.
Valid and active HFMA, CPA, CMA, or similar financial or healthcare certification required.
