Director Finance-Managed Care Revenue Plan

This position will have oversight of the Payment Posting and Finance teams within the CBO

Location-Arlington, TX

Job Duties

Payment posting, reconciliation, resolution of unknown payments, and productivity oversight. - Responsible for management and oversight of daily activities as they relate to the Payment Posting Team to ensure timely and accurate posting of cash receipts from payers and patients. Analyzes trends impacting payment posting and takes appropriate action to realign staff and revise procedures. Accountable for being knowledgeable and understanding of all aspects of payment posting in a healthcare setting including the ability to read and interpret third-party explanation of benefits (EOB). Oversees unknown payments including recoups and offsets to ensure resolution of unknown payments. Also ensures that requests regarding missing checks and inaccurate postings are responded to and posted as appropriate. Collaborate with Treasury, ITS, and 3rd party vendors to optimize automation of payment posting processes for lockbox payments and payers that do not offer EDI transactions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing solutions. Establish productivity measures and provide reporting and feedback to management and team to identify areas for improvement.

Oversight of payer EFT and ERA Enrollments - Responsible for identifying opportunities for enrollment for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT/ACH) and ERA/EFT/Claims setup. Manage existing ACH/835 connections; troubleshoot and resolve issues with all EDI functions related to ACH/835 transactions. Collaborate with Treasury and Tax teams to obtain necessary information to complete enrollments.

GL reconciliations (AR to GL and Patient Clearing accounts), related journal entries and support of GL interface for patient Accounts Receivable. - Balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Organize supporting back up which includes but is not limited to: journal entries, account reconciliation reports, balance sheet reconciliations and various supporting general ledger schedules. Identifies and reviews issues related to interface postings for resolution.

Financial Audit Support - Respond timely to audit requests from external auditors and Financial Compliance with supporting documents.

Development of policies and procedure for the CBO Payment Posting & Finance Teams Ensures that policies and procedures support operational quality and efficiency. Coordinates with other functional areas that are impacted or supported by our teams and ensure appropriate collaboration.

Team Development - Responsible for training and development of the CBO Payment Posting and Finance Teams' ensuring that the teams have the adequate training and tools to perform their respective functions.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Accounting required

Experience
5 years working with large muti-hospital complex health/hospital systems required and 5 years EPIC Systems / EPIC Installations / Revenue Cycle required

Licenses and Certifications
Epic Payment Application for Single Billing Office Certification preferred upon hire

Skills
Ability to manage large complex healthcare revenue cycle/billing organizations. Ability to lead large and multiple teams. Contribute and participate in over-all strategy and compliance initiatives.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Ability to read financial reports and legal documents. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowledge of Patient Accounting Systems, PC (Microsoft Office Software), Scanning Document Systems and fax.
