ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.

Position Summary

This position will report to the VP of Finance at the Medical Center and work in collaboration with the corporate finance offices in the ECU Health system. This position will have responsibility for the direction and leadership of operational, financial and programmatic activities for Finance, primarily focused on financial operational excellence within the Medical Center.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors required

Masters is required; or 15 years work experience within a finance function

Minimum 7 years of progressively more responsible experience in health care finance

Previous managerial experience is preferred

Strong excel / computer skills

Analytical skills with proven ability to resolve issues/problems by leveraging business and functional knowledge, and client relationships

Ability to translate complex financial data and analysis into presentations for appropriate audience.

High level of interpersonal, management and organizational skills are necessary with special focus on customer service orientation skills

Demonstrate credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority

Ability to bring individuals together to resolve differences and/or to achieve acceptance of a solution

Collaborative working style to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various project participants and/or stakeholders

Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the mission, vision and goals of ECU Health

Role preferred to mostly be on site with ability to work from home if and when needed, minimum expectation hybrid splitting the week with in office and work from home.
