Director of Accounting

Addison Group is looking for an Interim Director of Accounting to join a Southern California based entertainment company. Our client produces innovative content licensing and distribution delivery system. Our client is hiring with an eye to hire on a direct hire basis after a couple of months.

Job - The successfully hired Director of Accounting will be overseeing the company's accounting team. The Director will establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the company to support day-to-day General Ledger Accounting and Financial Reporting processes. The Director will be managing a couple of accounting professionals.

You will be hands-on on all financial and accounting aspects. The successful candidate will not have to rely on set policies and procedures. Instead, YOU will be the one creating accounting processes.

Note that the role on a temp basis will be a part-time role in the beginning, and eventually ramp up to a full-time role.

Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) - This job is a 100% remote role.

Pay - Estimated pay-rate is $65/hour to $75/hour.

DUTIES OF THE INTERIM DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
• Perform and oversee month and quarter end accounting closes
• Monitor weekly cash flows, including payments and receipts
• Manage your team of accountants, including hiring and training accounting professionals

Revenue Recognition Accounting
• Adhere to ASC 606 and determine revenue recognition events for each transaction

Financial Analysis and Reporting
• Consolidated financial statements
• Disseminate all relevant reports
• Build financial models in conjunction with the CFO

Miscellaneous
• Administer all treasury activities
• Oversee accounting software upgrade and ERP system implementation
• Manage external audit relationship with public accounting firm
• Recommend courses of action to help achieve financial goals of the company

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE INTERIM DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING

Required
• At least seven (7) years of accounting and financial experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent work experience
• Revenue recognition (ASC 606)

Preferred
• CPA
• Big 4 pedigree
• At least five (5) years of substantive technical accounting experience

• Detail oriented, with high level of ethics and integrity
• Ability to hire and mentor accounting professionals as you build out the department
