Position Responsibilities include:
  • Represent the facility in marketing activities, internally and externally including in-service education, public speaking programs, visits to new or potential referral sources, etc.
  • Coordinate facility admissions through the assessment of documentation for prospective admissions / suitability of placement including verification of insurance coverage(s).
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Nursing Supervisors about coordinating prospective admissions.
  • Complete admissions paperwork with residents and/or family member(s).
  • Communicate patient information clearly and provides clinical and financial information to facility staff.
  • Maintain daily contact with hospitals through telephone contacts to promote referrals to the facility and to act as a liaison between the hospitals' discharge planners and the admission and nursing department.
  • Responsible for 24/7 (weekends and holidays) referral review and insurance verification.
  • Maintain census according to budget.
  • Seek out new referral sources: e.g., M.D.'s, social workers, insurance case managers, etc. Conducts visits to physician's offices and other referral agencies to promote the facility's programs and to ensure physician/referral agency confidence in facility's programs.
  • Chair Admissions and Marketing Committees.
  • Maintain Waiting List and Inquiry List according to State Regulations.
  • Perform other related duties and attends meetings as may be deemed necessary by the Administrator and or Vice President of Business Development.

Preferred Experience/Credentials:
  • Degree in Social Work or other Health-related field
  • Medicare and/or Managed Care regulation experience
  • Excellent Communication Skills
