Job Description

Key Duties
  • Provides strategic counsel and hands on support to the Chief Wellbeing Officer, advising on strategy, day-to-day operations, offering guidance on sensitive matters, and ensuring leadership has the necessary information to make informed decisions.
  • Promotes and supports the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the team, providing guidance and leadership on strategic planning, policy development, and decision making.
  • Manages designated wellbeing team personnel.
  • Designs and implements policies, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepares and contributes to research, preparation, and execution of reports, briefings, presentations on strategic initiatives and other materials as appropriate.
  • Provides leadership and project management support of key strategic initiatives prioritized by the CWO.
  • Serves as liaison to the communications team, ensuring internal and external messaging on activities, programs, and initiatives are accurate, timely, and capture innovation and impact, including promoting the availability of resources for MUSC employees and students to encourage engagement and utilization.
  • Advises on the strategic direction and evolution of wellbeing initiatives, including identifying new opportunities and priorities, analyzing current well-being trends, and assessing feasibility of adaptation, scalability, and implementation at MUSC.
  • Builds and nurtures internal and external relationships to serve as a resource for the CWO and point of contact for programs, partners, and other collaborators to help resolve complex issues and move strategic priorities and projects forward.
  • Monitors and analyzes the impact, including engagement and utilization, of MUSC wellbeing programs to ensure goals and milestones are met, providing guidance on ways to better align offerings with needs to optimize impact and access.
  • Manages the process of review and oversight of the annual operational budget, ensuring resources are used appropriately and allocated to support the strategic plan and programs.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 7 years working in healthcare space, preferably in mental health and wellbeing.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience and subject matter expertise in the areas of workplace mental health and healthcare workforce burnout and well-being. Knowledge of, or experience with, major academic medical center or similar healthcare related environment. Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or similar field preferred but not required.
