Your Job

The SS&P Director of Finance & Strategy will influence strategy by establishing key financial priorities and building support with senior-level stakeholders across the company. The Director will also help drive results by fostering economic thinking and data-driven decision-making across the SS&P organization. To accomplish these goals, the Director will partner with a diverse cross-functional team, as well as directly lead a talented Finance team that designs, builds, and executes transformational knowledge processes.

This role is based in Atlanta, GA GP Center.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific's Strategic Sourcing & Procurement ("SS&P") organization is responsible for strategic category management, sourcing and procurement of critical materials & services that support more than 140 locations across the US. The SS&P organization is currently undergoing an exciting transformation with our business partners, building new capabilities that will help identify and capture significant opportunities across pricing, total cost of ownership, and sourcing execution. This effort is a critical element of Georgia-Pacific's continuous transformation. Within SS&P, the Sourcing Strategy & Insights team plays a critical role in identifying and capturing value. This dynamic team of Finance, Market Insights, Reporting Analytics, and RFP/Price management capabilities was assembled to champion data-driven decisions that underpin lasting competitive advantage. The SS&P Director of Finance & Strategy is a senior role that will provide thought leadership to the team, the SS&P organization, Georgia-Pacific, and Koch Industries.

What You Will Do

  • Execute and continuously improve transformation processes that provide transparency to financial performance, progress against bets, and areas needing improvement.
  • Support category leadership in development of category strategies and initiatives.
  • Be a thought and challenge partner on critical economic decisions (e.g. contracts, investments) and foster economic thinking across the organization.
  • Design, build, and promote adoption of key financial metrics across all levels of SS&P.
  • Communicate progress and insights to a variety of audiences, including senior executives.
  • Lead and coach Finance team members to maximize self-actualization and productivity.
  • Build strong relationships with other finance leaders and stakeholders across Georgia-Pacific to promote the SS&P vision and help stay synced with stakeholders' other priorities.
  • Engage leaders across Koch Industries to facilitate knowledge sharing and capability building.
  • Establish traditional finance processes (e.g. annual planning, SG&A reporting).
  • Champion the collection, organization, and visualization of new data to unlock new insights.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Progressive experience in finance, strategic planning, corporate strategy, consulting, or related roles.
  • Experience driving change in a large, highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency at building presentations. Comfortable being seen and heard by executives. Experienced at tailoring messaging to various levels and groups.
  • Adept at framing multi-faceted problems that involve different stakeholder interests, identifying insights, and telling a concise story.
  • Proficient at designing valuation approaches tailored to different types of opportunities that enable prioritization and progress-tracking.
  • Advanced Excel skills that enable efficient quality control of team's work.
  • Able to travel up to 10% domestically.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • MBA or advanced degree in finance, economics, or other quantitative discipline.
  • Leadership experience in a large, highly matrixed organization.
  • Experience in driving transformation of IT systems to enable new or better data.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, VBA, Hyperion, SQL).
  • Manufacturing industry and/or sourcing experience.
