Job Summary:

The Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts, (CPCA) encompasses the Boyer College of Music and Dance, the School of Theater/Film & Media Arts, and the Temple Performing Arts Center. The Director of Financial Aid and Services will oversee and manage all student scholarships, merit awards, and student payments from CPCA within all scholarship/award funds.

Collaborates directly with the Assistant Dean of Recruiting and Admissions, Assistant Dean of Student Services and Vice Dean of Finance and Administration to determine student scholarship/award allocations based on available and projected revenue within CPCA endowed funds and gift funds, complying with donor intentions for student selection criteria and appropriate spending; creates/distributes approved scholarship award letters for students as needed.

Scholarship and award management includes assessment and oversight of award allocation, submission of all student financial awards, scholarships, performance payments and student travel award funding through Student Financial Services (SFS), verifying all submissions are applied to student accounts through Banner INB and resolve any financial issues that may occur. Manage all ad hoc and emergency student aid requests from CPCA as needed.

The Director will manage all aspects of CPCA graduate student assistantship contract process: work directly with department chairs in determining graduate

assistantship duties and correlating award amounts; create all assistantship contracts, process/hire all assistantship students to payroll and determine appropriate

remission and submit proper remission documentation to SFS.

Serve as liaison with the graduate school for graduate student assistantship contracts. Assist International graduate assistantship students with applying through International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) for social security numbers. Process all fellowship payroll and ensure journal entry transfers are completed between CPCA and the graduate school.

Assist the Vice Dean for Finance and Administration with day-to-day financial operations of the CPCA. Resolves finance issues within CPCA departments, assist with fiscal year end close, etc. Manage various tasks throughout CPCA which include one-time payroll submissions, oversight/approval on invoices, purchasing cardholder transactions, special event revenue and expenses, CPCA grant payment processing, telecommunication needs, journal entry processing, as needed; train and support all faculty and staff on various university financial systems as needed and ensures that faculty and staff adhere to all university policies/procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 5 years of finance experience in a higher ed setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Master's degree preferred
