What We Are Looking For

The Director of Fuels Operations is responsible for leading NOCO's operations in accordance with the company's strategic plan and operating budgets. This position will lead NOCO's operations to deliver excellence in service, quality and productivity while applying proven strategic and analytical acumen to execute NOCO's business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's operations to ensure fiscal and operational success.
  • Develop and coach direct reports, sets clear expectations and manage results of the team.
  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor operational performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and make data-driven decisions.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational efficiency, safety compliance, and financial performance.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and equipment maintenance policies; ensure all sites are operated in a manner that is consistent with NOCO's safety procedures.
  • Oversee daily fuel delivery operations, including route planning, scheduling, and dispatching.
  • Ensure the efficient and timely delivery of fuel products to customers, while minimizing operational costs.
  • Ensure high levels of performance and adherence to standard operating procedures designed to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency of operations.
  • Implement communications processes that drive the highest levels of transparency and engagement.
  • Develop best-in-class operations processes capable of ensuring consistent on-time results that exceed customer expectations.
  • Continuous improvement with a focus on leveraging and maximizing technology solutions to drive consistency and create efficiencies.
  • Manage 3rd party consultants, contractors and other talent needed to execute our Operations. Ensure on-time and to budget completion of work performed by those constituents.
  • Develop and manage strategic plans and initiatives to advance the divisional missions and objectives. Including processes, workflows, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate the transfer of best practices, relevant information, and internal expertise in delivery and service operations within the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to plan for and manage the successful integration of acquired businesses.
  • Establish accountability in key processes by creating performance metrics (KPI's) and goals, and then manages the business to meet and exceed these measures.
  • Provide leadership to foster a culture focused on safety and continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Build and develop talent on the team, understand employees' career goals and provide coaching to get employees ready for advancement with the Company.
  • Supervise and manage performance; ensure tasks are appropriately delegated and completed by monitoring performance and holding employees accountable for meeting expectations.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff, deliver corrective action and discipline when necessary, and document all performance issues.
  • Ensure employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations, engage HR when appropriate.
  • Manage conflict and crisis; proactively anticipate, manage and constructively resolve conflicts and disagreements.
  • Hold regular team meetings (i.e. daily, weekly huddle meetings) to communicate priorities, safety, policies, company events, etc.


Safety
  • Perform periodic safety audits
  • Ensure conformance of DOT Regulations
  • Understand, provide leadership, and communicate safety goals and objectives.
  • Orient, train, and coach all team members on safety requirements, ensure safety compliance and take appropriate action to address safety violations.
  • Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment complying with company and OSHA standards and perform monthly safety inspections, as assigned.
  • Follow company policies to report and investigate all accidents and near-miss incidents.
  • Perform root cause analysis and address performance and related discipline issues, as appropriate.


What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Management or related field preferred
  • 10 years of related experience in fuels operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of the fuel industry, including transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale delivery operations and leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, staff, and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in fleet management and logistics software
  • Ability to think-on-your-feet, making effective decisions on a timely basis, sometimes with limited information
  • Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strength in initiative-taking and a demonstrated track record in proactively identifying improvement opportunities and acting upon them
  • Experience utilizing statistics and data in business decision making
  • Ability to travel as needed
