Job Description

Director of Health Care Program Planning/Analysis:
New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (New York, NY) seeks Director of Health Care Program Planning/Analysis to plan, initiate, monitor and direct studies and analysis of issues critical to the delivery of health care.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources and compliance with the operating standards of various health care governing and accrediting bodies, resulting in improved patient experience and outcomes.
• Direct and organize the development of health care planning projects.
• Initiate the development of conceptual and analytical prototypes.
• Identify issues to be studied, develop and initiate analytical and quantitative models and approaches, and provide for the application of appropriate analytical methods and techniques.
• Direct and coordinate activities of an organizational unit(s) concerned with one or more aspects of health care program planning.
• Direct staff, set unit priorities, evaluate work and provide ongoing guidance to assigned staff.
• Open up channels of communication with the System's managerial personnel, community groups and representatives of governmental and health care agencies to maximize planning activities.
• Provide consultative services to Operations, Medical and Professional Affairs and other groups, as needed, related to methodology for planning and evaluating specific health care programs.
• Direct evaluation studies and program performance audits.
• Present results of studies, analyses, evaluations, etc. and promote their acceptance and/or adoption.
• Set the overall standards for research and investigating criterion for the unit(s).
• Participate in internal/external quality assurance/performance improvement (QA/PI) activities, programs, training and relevant health care events.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Promotion, Public Administration or a closely related field, and two (2) years of relevant employment experience in the ongoing assessment, design, development, and implementation of system-wide clinical systems for an expansive healthcare organization.
