Director of HR and Payroll Services

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of HR/Payroll Services will work closely with the facility Administrator and department heads to oversee the payroll process and serve as the HR resource for the facility. They coordinate the timely completion of payroll and assistance of developing and implementing effective HR strategy and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Serve as primary HR resource in the facility
  • Responsible for monitoring and processing facility payroll process.
  • Enters and trains new employees into the payroll and time clock system.
  • Maintains I-9 forms.
  • Maintains employee personnel files, including separate confidential medical files as required. File all personnel paperwork as needed. Conduct audits on each file for Federal and State required materials.
  • Completes reference checks on all positions as required. Responsible for inputting new employees in E-Verify and conducting background checks.
  • Processes Employee Incident Reports and maintains files on incidents. Maintains OSHA Log. Communicates insurance carrier regarding updates and status of incidents.
  • Runs or participates in General Orientation. (Facility specific) Presents information on employee benefits and assists employees with completion of forms, as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor Degree or Technical Degree in HR Management, or related field prefered.

Experience: 2-3 years of HR Management. Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff. Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Meets all health requirements, as required by law. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
