Director of Marketing & Community Engagement

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The Lynchburg Hillcats are the Single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians and play in the Carolina League.
The organization is seeking a motivated and hard-working Marketing professional who will be
responsible for the oversight, management, and accountability of the Marketing department,
including contract, seasonal staff, and interns. This role will work to support the initiatives of the
Lynchburg Hillcats through brand development, awareness to drive ticket sales, social media
management, content creation, game day production, and fan engagement during Hillcats games. Additionally, the Director of Marketing & Community Engagement will be responsible for cohesive branding across marketing platforms including but not limited to print, broadcast, digital media, radio, game program, and in- game entertainment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
• Complete oversight of the Marketing department including budget management,
development of team members, organizational strategies, and strategies to increase
presence in the community
• Develop and implement a 12-month marketing plan to ensure the goals of the
organization are met
• Implement a grassroots marketing strategy that utilizes all available resources including
digital, print, and email initiatives
• Utilize data-driven results to make informed marketing decisions and adjustments to
campaigns, ensuring optimal results
• Develop strategy to increase revenue in areas such as online and single game ticket sales,
special events, online team store, and food & beverage revenue
• Oversee the game presentation to provide a first-class fan experience that also fulfills the
marketing and partnership objectives of the team, as well as meeting the guidelines of
Minor League Baseball
• Create, develop, and update game day script to fit the theme and satisfy partnership
objectives
• Plan and manage annual media day to collect all necessary photos, videos, gifs, etc. for
social media posts and video board graphics
• Design, create, and update player headshot graphics for the home and away teams
throughout the season as well as formatting headshots and database organization for
MiLB and media
• Oversee Southpaw appearances throughout the season and into the offseason
• Drive the collaboration with all departments to create insightful and consistent strategies
to achieve their specific goals
• Represent the team at community events, mascot appearances, local business alliances,
and volunteer opportunities
• Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and
teamwork
• Ultimate oversight of all external marketing relationships and clear communication of
marketing needs
• Perform spokesperson responsibilities with radio partners and media outlets
• Design and complete Proof of Performance packages for partners and Minor League
Baseball
• Create marketing strategies for all non-baseball events as required
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited, four-year college or university required
• Minimum of Two (2) years of full-time experience in sports, entertainment, advertising,
media, marketing, or related field required
• Proficient in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Suite programs
• Experience with Air, ShoFlow, Tri-Caster a plus
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays as necessary
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
• Required to work long hours standing and walking
• Sitting, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing, stopping,
bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, or crouching are all a part of the position
• Must be able to handle weather related elements such as rain and heat
