We're known for our friendly customer service and the exceptional care we provide our residents. We offer 24/7 skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, subacute care and other senior care services. This opening is a full time exempt position, with M-F d ay shift hours as well as on c all rot ation p articip ation . Both full and part time employees are eligible for benefits after a probationary period with minimum hour requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess bachelor's or associates degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have valid/active registered nursing license in the State of Maryland
  • Preferred minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, with a preference for candidates with prior Director of Nursing experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing nursing home facilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing (DON) is to plan, organize, develop, physically assess resident status and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure the highest degree of quality care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads daily operations for the nursing department and nursing services
  • Develops, maintains, reviews, and implements written nursing policies and procedures that govern day-to-day functions
  • Makes regular rounds to assure optimal quality of care is provided
  • Interviews, selects, hires, and on-boards new nursing st aff; s upervises, trains, and evaluates nursing staff
  • Meet regularly with administrative staff, department head staff, residents, employees and family and friends of residents
  • Provides direct patient care when necessary
  • Collaborates with doctors and executives on resident care, communicating any issues
  • Designs and manages continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Observes all safety policies required infection prevention and control policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
