Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assure compliance of life safety regulations, based on state specific requirements. This includes staff training, documentation and complete record keeping.
  • Routinely inspect the physical plant and provide routine preventative maintenance within recommended routines. Inspections should be documented completion, repairs logged and completed. All repairs should coincide with standards.
  • Routinely coordinate, direct and document required fire drills and training. Including annual full inspections and inservice with employees.
  • Establish and maintain schedule of service of equipment and systems.
  • On a routine basis, inspection of resident's apartments. Ensuring cleanliness and documenting needed repairs. Repairs should be done in a timely manner and communication to nursing team on any unsafe living conditions.
  • Maintain outside yard care, whether performed by facility staff or contract service
  • Maintain facility to meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Turn apartments when move outs occur within 72 hours of move outs. Ensure walk through of apartment is done prior to move out.
  • Ordering of all plant operations supplies and products, maintaining budget.
  • Oversight of housekeeping services. Leading the housekeeping team to success. Ensuring apartments and common areas are cleaned to standards.
  • Complete work orders within 48 hours of submission. Documented and followed up with resident, staff or family.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Must have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail and team-work oriented.
  • Must attend required in-services/ workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.


Qualifications:
  • Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years old.
  • Have working knowledge of electrical systems, air conditioning systems, heating systems, intercom systems, fire detention systems, plumbing, water and sewage systems, and maintenance of generator.
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude and be able to perform general maintenance in electrical, plumbing and carpentry areas.
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • A passion for helping seniors, especially those living with Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
  • Experience working with Dementia residents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing in standard English.
  • Able to work all shifts to ensure staffing coverage when needed.

Physical Demands and Requirements:
  • Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.
  • Must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift.
  • Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items
