Job Title: Director of Player Development

Reports to: Superintendent or designee

Job Goals:
  1. To provide consultative services to coaches that enhance the strength and conditioning of student-athletes, including but not limited to skill development, player performance, and injury prevention
  2. To provide seamless integration of City and School strength and conditioning programs to the greatest extent possible

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in coaching, player development, or athletic administration
  • Strong knowledge of high school athletics
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, staff, and City officials
  • Passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field
  • Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board might find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Design comprehensive training programs that focus on each sport's technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects
  • Develop individualized development plans for student-athletes based on their strengths, weaknesses, and potential
  • Organize and conduct skill development clinics, camps, and workshops
  • Work with coaches to align player development programs with team strategies and goals
  • Provide feedback to coaches on player progress and areas for improvement
  • Ensure all development programs comply with school policies, state regulations, and athletic association guidelines
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all student-athletes

Terms of Appointment: 12-month (240 Days)

Evaluation: Performance to be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

Salary: The position is voluntary.
