Job Title: Director of Procurement

Summary: The Procurement Director will report directly into the Chief Operations Officer. Will be responsible for managing procurement and supply chain functions for the entire company.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees supplier management and continuous evaluation/assessment of supplier performance, ensuring consistency of service, quality and compliance to contracts and established service level agreements.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal business owners and suppliers to establish sourcing strategies, continually improve the value of supplier relationships, and resolve supplier issues. Assumes accountability for building relationships and resolving conflict with all internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Conducts and supports quarterly business reviews with key suppliers to ensure compliance and identify areas needed for improvement.
  • Ensures Indirect Procurement supports business owners in the development of statements of work and implementation and transition plans to ensure effective service and material solutions.
  • Establishes policies relative to Indirect Procurement. Assures compliance to the defined policies, procedures, and regulations that impact the commercial relationships with suppliers and internal best practices utilized by the team.
  • Manages the departmental performance and expense budgets.
  • Works effectively in a global corporate environment that has complex problems requiring creative solutions.
  • Establishes internal alignment for recommendations, strategies, and other business building ideas across functions and within the Global Procurement Team.
  • Ability to oversee several simultaneous projects with the proper delegating skills and the precise amount of involvement without interference, allowing the specifically designated personnel to perform their tasks.
  • Manages different types of supplier relationships (new, niche, strategic partnership).
  • Analyzes complex data sets to draw conclusions regarding performance, emerging trends, and market developments in a timely fashion.
  • Accountable for results of the team, including managing and measuring internal metrics.
  • Manages overall goals and sets direction for the team such that they are aligned with enterprise objectives.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other related discipline required. Masters degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or other related discipline preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience in procurement and/or global supply chain field required. 10+ years preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity required. 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Track record of effectively managing the entire procurement process, from vendor selection, and negotiation to contract management and supplier performance evaluation/audit.
  • Managing a procurement department, implementing new and innovative ideas, streamlining existing processes, and supply chain principles.
  • Experience in creating statements of work and associated service level agreements.
  • ERP System knowledge relating to procurement, supplier, and materials management.
  • Exposure to corporate environment, energy, utilities, manufacturing, and transportation.
  • Proven skills in project, process, and people management.
  • Experience with a variety of contract types and contracts language.
  • Proficient computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and other government agency compliance requirements.

CSCP, CPSM, CPIM, CPSD, Lean Six Sigma, or other advanced certificate of experience preferred.
