The role you'll contribute:

The Director is a Master's prepared Registered Nurse who provides vision and strategic direction in conjunction with nursing leadership for professional development, clinical excellence, and Magnet recognition. The Director sets strategic direction for the delivery of education, leadership and nursing staff development, nursing orientation, and training at AdventHealth, in alignment with system education priorities. Collaborates with system education and leadership development to ensure effective and efficient use of educational resources. Accountable for the continuous quality improvement of nursing practice and professional development, aligned within the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Standards for Magnet and aligned within the Strategic Innovation Agenda (SIA) for AdventHealth.

The Director follows all applicable nursing standards including the Florida Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards for Nurse Administrators. The Director adheres to, and is knowledgeable of, the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan,

The value you'll bring to the team:

• Educates/mentors all levels of nursing on shared governance, and supports the work of the Shared Governance Councils and Nursing Practice Councils to ensure integrated nursing practice lead by bedside nursing professionals.

• Acts as a resource to strengthen the link between EBP/research and clinical practice by collaborating with other health professionals in promoting the utilization of nursing research to improve patient outcomes and enhance the environment of care consistent with a magnet culture. PI or sub-PI for nursing research project(s), participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and evidence based practice initiatives. Demonstrates accurate documentation and monitoring of activities as needed.

• Monitors outcomes data and facilitates NPC driven improvement actions to ensure nursing sensitive quality indicators meet standards to support safe, quality care. Participates in PI, patient safety and clinical quality initiatives.

• Maintains sources of evidence for empirical outcomes; patient outcomes, nurse outcomes, (productivity, NDNQI and nurse satisfaction), organizational outcomes, and consumer outcomes. Communicates these results to nursing and campus leaders, and nursing staff.

• Independently demonstrates leadership skills through timely, appropriate decisions and organizational ability with appropriate priority setting. Independently directs and provides supervision of employees.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

• Master's degree (if Bachelor's degree is not in Nursing, must have a MSN)

• Current, valid State of Florida license
