Position Summary:
Responsible for oversight of Quality, Compliance and Infection Control. Assists with coordination of Regulatory Compliance, Medical Staff Committees/Departments, along with Emergency Management functions within the hospital.

Qualifications:
Must have a thorough understanding of the operations of various departments or function. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in writing, in person, and over the telephone and have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff, medical staff, external agencies, and patients/families. Must be well-organized and have a strong ability to prioritize to meet deadlines, be decisive, tactful and flexible. Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills and must have moderate skill level with Microsoft Office applications.

Degree in Nursing with current Texas/Multistate license.

CBIC Certification preferred.
4-year degree in a related field.
5 years' experience in Quality/Performance Improvement/Infection Control.
2 years' experience working in or closely with Risk Management, Case Management, Medical Records, Business Office, and Information Technology.
2 years' supervisory experience.

Job Responsibilities:
Assures hospital compliance with Medicare and State requirements regarding performance improvement and patient safety.
Assures hospital compliance with RHQDAPU, HOPQDRP, and other quality programs.
Coordinates with attorneys and liability carriers on all legal/professional claims.
Maintains proactive monitoring systems to ensure quality & safety and minimize liability.
Assures compliance and confidentiality with all Peer Review activities.
Assures review and necessary follow-through for all incident reports.

Works closely with governing body (DNV).

Sits as chair of Compliance/Privacy Officer.
