Director of Recreation Overview:

As the Director of Recreation, you will be responsible for establish a plan to ease the transition for our residents and make life as fulfilling as possible through planning, developing, and implementing recreational activities that will meet the needs of our residents and target each life domain; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Director of Recreation Key Duties:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of the facility.
• Compliance with current local, state, and federal regulations, as well as professional standards to the Administrator.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for identification of medically related activity needs of the residents.
• Participated in planning, development and implementation of activity care plans, resident assessment, and interdisciplinary care plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Director of Recreation Qualifications :

• Possess a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Certified Activities Professional.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in Activities / Therapeutic Recreation in the long-term care setting.
• Effective communication skills to interact with residents, family members and the facility team members.
• Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with Point Click Care or other electronical medical record system.
