Overview

Oak View Group has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Ticketing at Fair Park in Dallas, TX. We are home to the State Fair of TX, Music Hall, The Cotton Bowl, museums, an outdoor amphitheater, and hundreds of events annually.

The Director of Ticketing will control all ticket inventories and oversee the processing of orders and payments for select events at OVG managed, Fair Park venues (State Fair of Texas, Dos Equis Amphitheater, Music Hall and the museums manage their own ticketing).

Utilizing a ticketing software, the Director creates ticketing for events and financial reports; manages and participates in the development and administration of an annual budget; direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials & supplies; direct & monitor expenditures. The Director of Ticketing is responsible for selection, training, motivation & evaluation of all Box Office personnel, & management of all aspects of customer service for internal & external customers.

This role will pay a salary of $62,000 to $67,500 plus bonus

Responsibilities

Build all events in the ticketing system, including seating manifests, price tables, hold/kills, discounts, pre-sales, etc.
• Oversee all financial reconciliation in regards to daily reports, monthly reports & event settlement
• Manage all information sent & posted through ticketing system
• Act as systems administrator for ticketing system & liaison between staff, promoters, presenters & the facility
• Responsible for system upgrades, occasional testing of new software, routine maintenance & trouble-shooting
• Prepare all ticketing reports for & work with tenants on system training & related premium ticketing services
• Update & relay all box-office related event info to department & client
• Investigate & resolve ticket-related issues
• Responsible for season ticket renewal mailings, processing of season ticket monies & printing/mailing of season tickets (if applicable)
• Responsible for all season ticket holder customer service related upgrades, priority point systems, etc.(if applicable)
• Responsible for the collection of all ticket monies, tracking of AP/AR,
preparation of sales reports/ticket revenue updates: includes parking monies
• Work with sales reports/ticket revenue updates
• Work with sales & marketing departments to set up various ticket discounts & promotions
• Oversee will call for all ticketed events, ensuring compliance to all relevant ticket laws
• Process/fill approved charity ticket requests; document all complimentary tickets issued
• Track attendance for all events, including pre-sales, walk-ups, promotions, discounts, etc

* Process donor seat selection and retention
• Manage of all aspects of customer service to internal/external customers, enforcing OVG principles & corporate initiatives
• Direct creation & control of fiscal budget for Box Office depart
• Plan, organize & coordinate the Box Office efforts for Cotton Bowl Stadium, Fair Park Coliseum, and other applicable venues on the Fair Park campus
• Work with current Fair Park events to migrate them over to the Paciolan ticketing platform
• Develop and implement comprehensive ticket sales programs
• Plan, direct, evaluate and provide leadership to Box Office personnel
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external customers
• Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and
implement recommendations in support of organizational objectives
• Comprehend and make inferences from written sales materials
• Exercise confidentiality and high integrity upon handling customer personal/financial information
• Complete all duties with a customer service focus in teamwork & dedication to OVG's principals

Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree from an accredited college w major work in business management, sports management, business administration or other related field
• Minimum of 5-7 years of increasingly responsible box office/ticketing experience, preferable in a sports facility, convention center, performing arts facility or other multi-purpose public assembly facility
• Knowledge of operational characteristics, services, activities of stadium, arena, public assembly facility or convention center sales programs
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Excel,
database, presentation, graphic design, PowerPoint and Internet
• Familiarity with Paciolan ticketing software, desirable but not required
• Knowledge of terminology used in box office/sales settings
• Knowledge of principles of budget preparation and control
• Communicate clearly & concisely, both orally and in writing
• Make basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) either manually or with a calculator
• Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, eves, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days & occasionally extended number of days
