Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in California is $180,000- $218,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long term incentives.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager/Director of Validation Engineering to lead our validation engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and extensive experience in validation processes, testing methodologies, and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement validation strategies and plans for new product development projects.
- Lead a team of validation engineers responsible for testing and validating power generation systems, components, and software.
- Define validation requirements based on product specifications, customer needs, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, product management, and manufacturing to ensure validation activities align with project timelines and goals.
- Establish test protocols, methodologies, and acceptance criteria for product validation.
- Oversee the design and execution of validation tests, including reliability, performance, and safety testing.
- Analyze test data, identify issues or areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality procedures.
- Manage the validation engineering budget, resources, and priorities.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field). Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in validation engineering, including hands-on experience with product testing and validation methodologies.
Preferred:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- In-depth knowledge of testing procedures, data analysis techniques, and validation best practices.
- Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, power systems) is desirable.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of product development processes and quality management systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Experience with reliability engineering, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and statistical analysis techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, UL, CSA) related to power generation systems.
