JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing the leadership for all procedures pertaining to the management of student discipline at the central office level, to include development of the Code of Behavior, student discipline hearings, long-term suspensions, expulsions, readmissions, criminal reassignments, and all related appeals. This position supervises the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all alternative programs, such as Computer Based Instruction, General Education Development (GED), Individual Student Alternative Education Plan (ISAEP) and Adult Education, in the School Division, excluding the middle school and high school alternative centers. This position engages in overseeing the establishment, implementation, adherence to state policies, and school board policies and procedures regarding student discipline and Title IX decisions. This position ensures that all local, state, and federal programs related to student management and alternative programs meet requirements and that all related reports are provided efficiently and according to guidelines. This position performs work under the direction of the Associate Superintendent for Student Services and Post-Secondary Success.
