As the director you will be responsible for enhancing user experience to create a customer-centric culture within SCADhome through supervision of the concierge, hospitality, and events teams, as well as collaborating on large SCADhome initiatives and signature events. In this position you will supervise the concierge specialist team, the assistant director of SCADhome hospitality and events, and 28 SCADhome Ambassador student leaders. You will also create a common language for all SCADhome employees for consistency in communication; monitor and ensure reasonable response times for anyone reaching out to SCADhome; interface with campus partners, students, and families; and ensure that SCADhome processes are designed as positive, meaningful, value-driven experiences.

Duties in this position include embedding a "plus one" mindset into all business functions, training staff on SCADhome standards of excellence, assessing residential satisfaction, developing FAQs for SCADhome policies and processes, and developing staff training materials. Collaborations with SCAD Events and other internal departments on signature events should be expected along with overseeing said large-scale events. Likewise, as the director you will create planning and project management standards, lead and coordinate the student leader recruitment and hiring process, and assess student employee satisfaction.This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with excellent customer service, user experience, and event planning skills
  • At least three years of full-time experience in residence life and housing or other group living environment with an emphasis on coordinating housing services
  • Previous supervision experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment
  • Excellent communication, language, writing, presentation, budgeting, reasoning, and data analyzing skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience specifically in higher education, student development, counseling, or related field
  • At least five years of full-time experience in residence life and housing with at least one year of managing the campus housing assignment process
  • Training and development background

Travel required:
  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
