Aspirus is seeking a Director - System Corporate Counsel Labor &Relations to join our team in Wausau, WI!
The Corporate Counsel (Labor & Relations) provides comprehensive legal support on all labor and employment matters affecting Aspirus, Inc. and its affiliated entities, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, consistent with Aspirus, Inc.'s principles, mission, and philosophies.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is the flagship of the Aspirus system that serves patients in 14 counties across northern and central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is a licensed private/not-for-profit facility with 325 beds and staffed by 350 physicians in 35 specialties. Aspirus Wausau Hospital is a Level II trauma center that provides primary, secondary and tertiary care services as a regional referral center. Specialty referral service emphasis exists in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, orthopedics and cancer. The hospital has an average daily inpatient census of 220 with approximately 15,000 admissions per year. Experience/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of legal standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 10 years of legal practice required, including at least five years working on labor and employment matters.
- Demonstrated excellence in legal research, analysis, and communication.
- Strong negotiation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Current license to practice law. Must obtain Wisconsin license within 12 months of date of hire.
- Experience with labor relations in a unionized environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards.
