Applicants must have a minimum of a master's degree in forestry, business or related field.

Position Summary

This is a 12-month Academic Professional (non-tenure track) faculty position in the Harley Langdale Jr. Center for Forest Business (CFB) (www.ugacfb.com) of the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources. This is a 70% administrative and 30% teaching appointment with undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities including courses such as: wood and fiber supply, forestry consulting, forest business seminar and if needed a summer field course. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting the biennial Timberland Investment Conference and other periodic continuing education programs. They will also oversee the CFB budget, assist in strategic planning efforts, market forest business graduate programs and recruit students, support and promote CFB faculty research efforts, and expand and maintain close ties to program employers and stakeholders. Furthermore, the successful candidate will assist the Dean of the Warnell School with corporate-focused development efforts, legislative/external affairs, and CFB strategic planning as requested.

Additional Requirements

Ten or more years of significant recent managerial/executive experience in the forest business sector.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

Applicants must be able to demonstrate their ability to work collaboratively with faculty and be effective instructors at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We particularly encourage applicants with at least one degree from an SAF accredited forestry program.
