Mission

Interacts with passengers, families of passengers, social service agency representatives and general public to provide general information and schedule trips. Assists with coordination of the daily operational activities of drivers regarding movement of vehicles. Provides constant communication with drivers. Provides receptionist and clerical support within the guidelines of department standard operating procedures, instructions from the supervisor and city policies and procedures. Reports to Special Services Manager and provides administrative support to co-workers and the general public.

Profile

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides assistance with incoming calls, two-way radio and mobile data terminals

• Gathers and inputs daily trip data into scheduling database.

• Maintains filing system with office records

• Assists with fare collections from Operations including fare reports

• In the absence of the ADA Support Services Manager, coordinates activities of transit drivers

• Performs related and other special duties as required or directed

• Responsible for ensuring the ADA Paratransit program follows all local, state and federal regulations

• Provides Special Services Department support as needed with scheduling, dispatching, and taking calls.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, Trade School or equivalent level of education

• One to five (1-5) years in similar position or sufficient experience to perform principal duties and responsibilities usually associated with completion of apprenticeship/internship

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 Laws and Procedures

• Familiarity with Trapeze, QRyde or other technology related to demand response service

• Considerable knowledge of modern office equipment, office procedures and computer operations

• Familiarity with general office policies and procedures

• Skilled in interpersonal relations and customer service

• Skilled in basic mathematical calculations, operating a computer, standard office equipment and in file management

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• Demonstrated ability to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking and occasional lifting of light objects. Work is primarily performed in an office.

DRIVING RECORD

• Driving record must reflect no more than two moving violations, two (2) at fault accidents or two (2) no liability insurance violations in the past five (5) years

• No conviction or deferred adjudication for a serious traffic violation (i.e., DUI, driving with a suspended license, etc.) in the past seven (7) years; and no more than two (2) DUI convictions in a lifetime

• Any more than one driving safety course taken for a moving violation that appears on a five (5) year driving record will be treated as a moving violation and count against the record

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND RECORD

No conviction or deferred adjudication for a felony, or a Class A or B misdemeanor within the last seven (7) years. Convictions or deferred adjudication for a felony or misdemeanor outside the last seven (7) years will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

SECURITY SENSITIVE POSITION

This position has been identified as a "Security Sensitive" position. Augusta Transit Management will conduct annual background checks on incumbents in this position. A position is "Security Sensitive" if its incumbent handles currency, has access to sensitive computerized databases, has access to master keys, or works in an area of the Augusta Transit Management that has been designated as a security sensitive area.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION

This position has been identified as a "Safety Sensitive" position. An employee in this position is required to participate in the Employer's testing program for prohibited substances. Participation in this program is a condition of employment with ATM. A safety sensitive employee is randomly tested for prohibited drug use and/or alcohol use.

Schedule:

Monday - Wednesday 11:00 am - 8:00 pm

Off Thursday

Friday 4:45 am - 1:45 pm

Saturday 12:00 -6:00 pm

Pay Rate 16.87/HR
