Summary

The Department of Psychiatry at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center is looking to fill a part-time role as Division Chief to provide clinical and administrative leadership for the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The Division Chief works with clinical and administrative leaders, child psychiatrists and child psychiatry clinicians at MMC to plan and oversee programs and supports the overall management of the division consistent with the training, research and patient care priorities set forth in the MaineHealth mission, vision and values.

The Division Chief's work supports the alignment of behavioral health services provided to youth and families. The Division Chief is responsible for the provision of high-quality care and education provided by the MMC Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, achieving this through the development of quality activities, data management and academic goals. The Division Chief works collaboratively toward goals within patient care activities, MMC's educational mission, and allocation of resources. The Division Chief also collaborates with leadership at Spring Harbor Hospital (SHH) and MaineHealth Behavioral Health, as well as with the MaineHealth Children's Health service line, to develop and align processes and programs. This position reports to the Vice Chair of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center Portland.

Desired Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree
  • State of Maine Medical License
  • Current board certification in Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • At least five years of post-graduate experience in clinical and administrative & Adolescent Child Psychiatry
  • Significant academic record commensurate with academic rank at Tufts University Medical Center
  • Extensive knowledge of budget and clinical review processes, and Quality and Performance Improvement
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including conflict management, communication, strategic planning and team development
