  • Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President-Finance for the Acute Division, the Division Vice President is a critical leader providing counsel and expertise to drive continued success in the Acute Division and the Finance function within all its various business segments including hospitals, ambulatory sites, and independent physician management.
  • Working in collaboration with the SVP-Finance as well as various business leaders across the enterprise, the Division VP will design and implement financial strategies, support growth through organic and inorganic programs, and incorporate best practices in all aspects of finance. The person will be the direct leader of the Regional Finance team as well as the Acute and IPM accounting teams.
  • They will directly and indirectly oversee a team of approximately 30 people - coaching, mentoring and leading this team to be high performing will be critical to success.
  • The Division VP will oversee all aspects of the accounting operations, including maintenance and enforcement of corporate accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) ensuring the integrity of the Division's financial data and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience.
    Travel - Up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Must possess strong advanced knowledge of GAAP; a strong understanding of the financial management, business and clinical operations of healthcare enterprises; ability to direct the preparation of internal financial reports, ensuring that the reports reliably reflect the financial position of the Acute Care Division.
  • Hands-on leadership style: Leads by doing. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and implement programs which attract and develop talent and organizational capabilities.
  • Assume a participating role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing hospital operating costs and increasing revenues based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports and operating procedures.
  • Lead the development of long and short-range plans, which may include service demand analyses, resources availability analyses, productivity, and cost benefit analyses of proposed capital and staff expansions.
  • Review business development activities, contracts, purchase agreements, and other financial arrangements to ensure compatibility with business goals and expectations about profitability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: a confident business-oriented mindset with a listen first mentality. A credible communicator that gains the confidence of key stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement mindset - never satisfied with the status quo and driven by intense curiosity and desire to grow and develop the business, the team and individually.
  • Able to execute and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
