Your Job

This reliability engineer will utilize leadership, will be the subject matter expert (SME) in hydraulics and lubrication systems, and will have the ability to collaborate to help plan and coach improvements in these areas within the Continuous Manufacturing Group. This key position provides the opportunity to leverage resources, innovative technologies, and continuous improvement programs to position the facilities for strategic growth.

Our Team

Georgia Pacific's Continuous Manufacturing Group (CMG) has an opening for a Divisional Reliability Engineer - Lube, Hydraulics Specialist.

What You Will Do

  • Advances the Market-Based Management (MBM) culture at the mill by utilizing MBM principles and mental models in interactions with team members.
  • Identify opportunities to engage with site locations to advance their Lube, Air, and Hydraulic processes.
  • Work with the corporate technology group to advance monitoring strategies.
  • Conducting audits on equipment and processes to ensure program consistency and recommend improvements.
  • Developing/Maintaining an Asset Health program aligned with business goals and strategies for sustainable asset health.
  • Effectively coach while seeking and sharing knowledge with others for learning and employee development
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies for lube/hydraulic/air systems.
  • Make recommendations for improvements.
  • Mentor and ensure KPIs drive overarching goal attainment
  • Assessments of repair vendors and site visits to review failures and to mentor central mechanical installations.
  • Work with the corporate technology group to advance monitoring strategies across the organization.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or 15+ years of equivalent experience

• Understands developing and implementing a successful lubrication program.

• Understands developing and implementing a Hydraulic program

• Able to read schematics (Hydraulic/Mechanical)

• Familiar with current and trending lube/hydraulic technologies, including intelligent sensors and developing technology.

• Knowledge of lubrication filtration

• Knowledge of Compressed air systems

• Experience in hydraulic/pneumatic system troubleshooting and design

• Ability to conduct audits

• RCA Knowledge

• Able to travel 60%

What Will Put You Ahead

• Degreed Engineer in tribology (Can be minor) Lubrication

• Certified in lubrication (MLT, MLA, or CLS)

• Certified in Fluid Power (IFPS FPS or equivalent)

For this role, we anticipate paying $130K - $180K
