Description

Under the direction of the Dosimetry Supervisor and general supervision of the Medical Dosimetry staff, the primary role is to provide support, as directed, throughout the external beam treatment planning process. The Dosimetry Assistant will also support and adhere to BHSF safety and compliance programs, including OSHA, HIPAA, and the Code of Ethics. The position will require the candidate to be on-site at Miami Cancer Institute. They acquire and transmit patient-related data, including CT simulation data sets, diagnostic imaging data sets, and prior radiation treatment records. Performing DICOM data set registrations and fusions. Contouring of patient anatomy for use in treatment planning. Assist in treatment clearance checks in Radiation Therapy rooms. Monitor and update departmental whiteboards and care paths for timely completion of Dosimetry tasks-import patient-related files into patient-specific Electronic Medical Record systems and Oncology Information Systems. Manage departmental calendars as directed by Dosimetry Supervisors. Attend departmental meetings. Prepare and organize select departmental meetings, including launching virtual meeting rooms (Zoom) to load presentation cases. Additional tasks may be assigned as Dosimetry Supervisors sees fit.
The estimated pay range for this position is $20.94 - $25.34 / hour depending on experience.

Qualifications:

Associates and higher level degrees are preferred. Direct experience in Dosimetry, X-ray technology, Radiologic Technology, and other related fields is desired but not required. The candidate will be knowledgeable of essential human anatomy. The candidate will be knowledgeable of basic medical terminology. Qualified Candidates will be competent in Microsoft Office Suite-especially Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Qualified Candidates will be comfortable using computers and adept at learning new programs and software.The candidate must have a valid high school diploma or GED to meet minimum qualifications.
