The Jacobs Virginia Transportation team is searching for a motivated Drainage Design Engineer who can utilize their technical and design skills to deliver highway-related infrastructure projects. This opportunity is your chance to work on multi-disciplined transportation projects that focus on highway, roadway, and interchange projects.

In this role you will provide drainage design for roadway and highway projects throughout Virginia. Work at this level requires the ability to work in a team, collaborative, and fast paced environment. Typical work assignments may include storm drainage analysis and design, cross drainage design, erosion control, temporary drainage, quantity and cost estimates, preparation of technical reports and memorandum, and preparation of construction plans, estimates, and specifications as required.

When you join us, you'll work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed drainage design of urban and rural transportation projects. You'll conduct storm drainage analysis and design per the requirements of the project and various transportation public agencies such as VDOT.

We'll ask you to provide support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates as well as assist in the preparation of projects specific drainage reports and technical memorandum.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Registration as Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or ability to obtain in 6-12 months
• Previous experience working on transportation projects with focus on drainage design
• Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate all drainage design phases of a project with other team disciplines.
• Previous experience utilizing MicroStation or AutoCAD

Ideally, you'll also have:
• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Previous experience with PS&E, schematic and alternative delivery (i.e. Design-Build and PPP) transportation projects is a plus.
• Experience in utilizing OpenRoads Drainage, CivilStorm, StormCAD, PondPack, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, Hydraulic Toolbox, HY8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and SWMM is a plus.
