Job Summary and Qualifications

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs accurate analysis of all cardiac anatomy and assimilates appropriate data necessary for interpretation of the study.
• Assists the physician as needed during procedures and monitors physiological parameters during procedures.
• Performs job to ensure quality care is provided within defined area of accountability.
• Completes department appropriate technologist structure reporting protocol as set forth by the accrediting body.
• Restocks work areas with necessary supplies. Keeps work areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety.
• Maintains lab equipment to ensure optimal functioning by inspecting for breakdown, troubleshooting and communicating with appropriate repair persons.
• Submits activity reports as requested.
• Participates actively in continuing education and assists in education of new staff as requested.

EDUCATION

• Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health or Nursing

EXPERIENCE

• An appropriate credential in echocardiography or vascular sonography from the ARDMS or CCI within six months of hire (dual certification within 18 months/prior to 2017)
• An appropriate credential in echocardiography from the ARDMS or CCI
• Successful completion of an ultrasound or cardiovascular technology

LICENSURE

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
