Responsibilities

ECT Recovery Room Registered Nurse
Is in charge of and responsible for the operation of the ECT recovery room. Assigns duties to and supervises the performance of other nursing staff. Makes frequent assessments of patients and reports any change in condition to the team leader and/or physician. Secures orders from physician, makes appropriate entries in chart, administers prescribed medications and treatments. Provides nursing care to patients, does patient teaching. Makes out reports and requisitions. Assists in other areas of ECT as needed.

Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred: BSN
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:
Licensed RN to practice in Kentucky
Current CPR ALCS preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Nursing experience providing direct patient care.
Preferred: One year inpatient behavioral health work experience and one year medical/surgical nursing experience.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- May start, maintain and discontinue IV's
- Demonstrates knowledge of actions, indications, contracdictions, side effets, correct dosages and routes, and nursing implications of drugs in the adminstration of medications and seeks appropriate intervention for the side effect.
- Serves as a rescource is assiting adults and families in understanding medicaitons and treatment, side effects and long term benefits
- Initiate and document special treatment procedures.
- Document nursing care, treatment and patient's response to treatment.
- Provide health education to patients.
