Make a Difference

The Executive Director of Oncology Services, in dyad leadership with the Physician Leader of Oncology, ensures that within the given region the delivery of cancer care services is consistently, safely and effectively provided throughout the continuum of care. The Executive Director, in alignment with Network strategic and operational goals, will oversee all operations and strategic planning, establish goals, objectives, and standards of performance, and facilitate compliance with operating policies and procedures for Oncology Services for the given region. This position will be responsible for ensuring the center meets financial targets, recognizing the revenue cycle implications for outpatient oncology, as well as assuring operational efficiencies and oncology service standards are implemented. The Executive Director will mentor managers and team members with respect to effectively managing the operations with a focus on Patients First and developing and achieving annual projections.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in business, health care administration or other related field (Required), Master's degree (Preferred).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience with at least three (3) years in oncology services or related areas, multi-site experience, ambulatory experience. (Preferred)
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with Regional President(s) and other Regional and Product Line leaders across Community Health Network as well as with employees, and physicians, anticipating and meeting their needs, earning credibility and trust.
  • Leads, coordinates and directs the Oncology Services within the given region.
  • Utilizes knowledge of hospital and cancer care delivery processes to guide leadership of interdisciplinary teams to improve patient flow, clinical outcomes, and efficiency of patient encounters while adhering to established department and professional standards.
  • Ensures that all cancer care delivery processes and outcomes meet or exceed regulatory, accreditation and certification requirements. Provides consultations/direction to the individuals and/or teams to facilitate compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of current healthcare economic trends, legislation and policy at the state and federal levels. Appropriately communicates current information to all stakeholders.
  • Conducts regular meetings with leadership team and staff, as appropriate.
  • Champion the image and reputation of Community Health Network, with particular emphasis on Patients First, quality, safety, service and community relations.
  • Facilitates and coordinates the recruitment and retention of employees in cooperation with Human Resources and operational leadership.
