Education Coordinator - Pediatrics Department

Departmental Job Summary

The Pediatrics Department is looking to hire a full time Education Coordinator, to assist with their our undergraduate medical education (UME) team. Ideal candidates will beresourceful, detail-oriented, extremely organized, skilled at task prioritization and time management,demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, dependable, and a critical thinker with a proactiveapproach toward problem solving. To be successful in this role, this individual must operate with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, with a customer service focus and ensure compliance with all medical school policies and procedures.

Experience with coordination of medical student program activities is preferred.

Experience and Education
  • High school graduate or GED and four (4) years related experience.
Job Duties

Primary Roles
  • Provide administrative support for faculty during the Pediatric Clerkship (6-week block, ~30 students per block, 8 blocks a year)
  • Provide administrative support for faculty and support for student scheduling for pediatrics components of the Ambulatory Clerkship (6-week block, ~36 students per block, 8 blocks a year)
Primary Tasks
  • Attend weekly clerkship meetings (Zoom/Teams)
  • Schedule clerkship students for clerkship standardized assessment simulation experience (Excel)
  • Schedule faculty lecturers and reserving rooms
  • Communicate with students regarding assignments and duties (Outlook, D2L)
  • Calculate and submit grades (Campus Solutions and MedHub)
  • Collate material for remediation (Adobe Acrobat, D2L)
  • Respond to emails and inquires (Outlook)
  • Cross train with other UME coordinators (3rd year and 4th year), maintain programs during absences
  • Collect and organize data regarding student experiences to help the faculty in education development and longitudinal education scholarships (RedCAP)
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code •51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
