JOB DESCRIPTION: Educational Technology and Personalized Learning Specialist will work under the general supervision of the DSD Digital Learning Director and the Davis Connect Director, and the direct supervision of the Davis Connect Secondary School Administrator

This is a 257-day contract. Salary will be determined within the district guidelines

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.

Fulfill Davis Connect's main objective which is to provide flexible, rigorous, personalized, and open enrollment options for students, based on their families' determined needs.

2.

Supervise, lead, and coordinate Davis Connect¿s work as a provider within the State Online Education Provider (SOEP) Program.

* Attend provider meetings. Send required reports. Supervise standardized testing. Manage budgets.

3.

Supervise Teachers' Assistants as they support students and teachers to be successful in digital courseware.

4.

Work and collaborate with other Davis Connect and school district staff members to select, build, and maintain the best courseware/software for students and their families.

5.

Supervise and instruct teachers in building and administering digital courses.

6.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.

Current State of Utah Level II Teaching Certificate or School Counseling License with a minimum of 3 years teaching or counseling experience

2.

Experience in the innovative use of technology in the instructional process and specifically as it supports personalized, blended, and on-line school models.

3.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and the Canvas Learning Management System and other digital instructional tools used in remote learning or independent study.

4.

Ability to work well with other departments, teachers, and administrators to support students.

5.

A willingness to learn and explore new and emerging technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.

Experience in teaching and managing adolescent and adult learners in face to face and online environments.

2.

Experience with (or knowledge of) instructional strategies, such as blended learning, flipped classroom, differentiated instruction, etc.

3.

Experience with (or knowledge of) teaching with instructional courseware/software and digital tools.
