Overview
Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates strategies to ensure proper onboarding, competencies and professional and preceptor development.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates orientation programs for all new nursing and paramedic staff.
  • Coordinates scheduling of Emergency Medicine Residents
  • In collaboration with Chief Flight Nurse/ANM and Medical Directors, evaluates or participates in the clinical performance appraisal process of new and experienced employees.
  • Monitors the completion of online courses, competency-based orientation tools and other mandatory education requirements in accordance with CAMTS standards and develops plans with individual staff to ensure work is completed on time.
  • Provides and creates supports systems/initiatives for unit preceptors.
  • Identifies areas of clinical practice which need to be strengthened or changed.
  • Assists leadership team with corrective actions
  • Coordinates and promotes departmental in-service and continuing education programs.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness, makes recommendation(s) for change, review change and determines the progression/implementation of future departmental education programs.
  • Assesses unit competencies needs and develops annual competency tests and simulation experiences based on these needs.
  • Oversees the scheduling, correcting and recording of the annual mandatory education.
  • Monitors completion of nursing staff annual mandatory education requirements and reports data to Unit leadership.
  • Participates and is active member of Quality Council
  • Collaborates with Chief Flight Nurse/ANM and Medical Directors in collecting and tracking clinical quality metrics.
  • Develops and implements didactic and clinical safety education for Specialty Team Members
  • Maintains all educational records related to CAMTS accreditation standards.
  • Performs duties as an active flight crew member and will intermittently work clinically with new employees to assess their progression through orientation program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications
    • Graduate from an accredited Nursing or Paramedic Program required.
    • Bachelors of Nursing or related field required.
    • Master's degree preferred
    • Critical care experience required; flight experience preferred
    • Must meet crew weight standard
    • Must have the ability to travel unrestricted by air or ground between the US and Canada and possess a valid passport
    • 2 years of education or professional development preferred.
    • Ability to travel to remote base(s) as requested
    • Excellent informatics, verbal and written communications skills desired

    - Licensed Registered Nurse or Nationally Registered Paramedic with NH eligibility
