Position Overview: The Educator Preparation Analyst supports the preparation of educators and the generation of consumer data related to educator preparation by collaborating on the functional design and installation of Educator Certification Online System (ECOS) applications, identifying solutions to operational problems, completing service requests from educator preparation programs (EPPs), and preparing training for EPPs. The Educator Preparation Analyst also supports the Educator Preparation team in establishing and implementing a vision for continuous improvement and effective educator preparation by leading the systems support processes, generating a variety of data and reports related to educator preparation, and through assistance with completing EPP reviews and processing complaints.

The systems analyst performs highly complex computer systems and data analysis work with limited supervision, under guidelines established by the educator preparation team. This position reports to the Director of Educator Preparation Program Management.

Essential Functions

Job duties are not limited to the essential functions mentioned below. You may perform other functions as assigned.

1. ECOS Maintenance: Act as subject matter expert (SME) to coordinate with TEA and EPP users to identify system requirements, support the implementation of system updates by conducting user acceptance testing, developing business process requirements, and developing and implementing training for TEA and EPP users for new or revised systems.

2. Program Support: Provide ongoing support to EPPs and to TEA by performing administrative tasks in ECOS related to EPP service requests and through finding solutions to operation problems involving ECOS functionality.

3. Data Support: Collaborate across TEA teams to generate data and reports related to educator preparation and to support the Educator Preparation team functions.

4. Certificate Implementation, Transitions, and Related Supports: Act as SME for the Educator Preparation team in the successful implementation, transition, and supporting activities related to new certificates.

5. Educator Preparation Team Support: Support the Educator Preparation team by assisting with team functions as needed.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university

• Required Licenses: Educator Certification preferred

• Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in a systems support role

• Substitutions: An advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experience

• Familiarity with Texas Education Code and Texas Administrative Code provisions related to educator standards, testing, and preparation and the ability to recognize and work within regulatory constraints
