Responsibilities
The EEG Tech Associate at our hospital will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and performance of electroencephalograms (EEGs) to help diagnose and monitor neurological conditions. This role includes preparing patients for procedures, setting up and calibrating EEG equipment, monitoring EEG recordings, and ensuring accurate and quality results. The EEG Tech Associate will also maintain patient records, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality are essential for this position.

- Must be able to perform basic neurology procedures; EEG.
- Explains purpose and procedure to patient and/or family prior to and during procedure(s).
- Notifies neurologist of any abnormal results that may need immediate attention.
- Documents complete care of patient. Performs thorough patient assessment and documents completely completes necessary forms for tests and complete all appropriate charting on treatment flow sheets and charges for procedures.
- Assists with Cardiology procedures (EKG Stress Testing Muse Editing etc.) as required.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED
- American Heart Association BLS card
- ABRET required within (2) years of completion of EEG Program Certification
Preferred:
- Minimum of six (6) months experience performing EEGs
- Six (6) month experience performing pediatric EEGs
- Six (6) month experience performing ambulatory EEGs
- Skilled in EKGs and Stress Tests
- EEG Program Certification AA or AS or equivalent competencies
