Responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the safety and environmental resources within their assigned location or locations including support and execution of company EHS policies, compliance with all applicable local and state regulations, and achievement of annual goals and progression through the EHS Plan, SMS and all training requirements. Locally responsible for providing guidance and direction for the planning, implementation and operation of Quad's Safety Management System (SMS) and environmental policies resulting in a safe working environment for employees and sustained regulatory compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates excellent safety behavior and attitude and follows all safety policies and programs while promoting Quad's culture which fosters EHS practices through effective leadership.
  • Implementation and sustainability of Safety Management System (SMS). Lead SMS assessments at various Quad locations and provide training/assistance in SMS implementation across all Phases/Tiers.
  • Engage manufacturing employees and leaders to create a culture where all employees will bring safety/environmental concerns to the attention of management and ensure all employees, contractors, visitors and stakeholders understand and follow Quad's EHS requirements.
  • Participate in management meetings and meetings focused on EHS and improving processes/programs including strategy deployment and advocate meetings.
  • Assist in OSHA Recordkeeping, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of resulting action items and preventative measures
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to employees and managers on EHS initiatives and changes to our EHS programs or processes.
  • Participate in EHS audits and inspections and assist in coordinating implementation of corrective actions. Participate and help in annual review of SMS audits and programs.
  • Provide guidance, support, assistance, review and approval through indirect reports to assure compliance with all (as applicable and/or required) local, state and Federal environmental laws and regulations for all U.S. plants, including, but not limited to the following:
  • Training support, tools, resources and assistance for completion of monthly emission recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Semi-annual and annual compliance certification compilation, assistance, completion and submittal (as required for Federal Title V facilities).
  • Annual air permit emission inventory, compilation, assistance, completion and submittal.
  • Annual Tier II (SARA Section 312) compilation, assistance, completion and submittal to all (as applicable and/or required) local fire department, county emergency response boards and state emergency response boards.
  • Annual hazardous waste inventory, compilation, assistance, completion and submittal.
  • Annual or quarterly monitoring, compilation, assistance, completion and submittal of sanitary or storm water parameters.
  • Provide guidance, support, assistance, review, approval and completion to plants through indirect reports on required plans to include development, implementation, review and maintenance of plans to meet those obligations, including, but not limited to the following:
  • Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC)
  • Storm Water
  • On-Site Emergency
  • Malfunction Prevention and Abatement
  • Compliance Assurance Monitoring (CAM)
  • Risk Management (RMP)
  • Homeland Security

  • Provide guidance, support, assistance, review and approval to plants through indirect reports for environmental problem solving for internal and external stakeholders (clients, customers, prospective customers, non-profits, state and federal agencies, schools and local entities).

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Education: Associate's Degree / Bachelor's Degree

    Experience: Degree in Safety, Environmental, or at least 1 year of EHS experience

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Knowledge of OSHA and Environmental compliance regulations
    • Experience implementing and managing OSHA/Environmental Programs
    • Strong communication, decision-making and leadership skills
    • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Products and ability to learn Quad Tools.
