Job Description

Under the direction of the Director, Information Systems & Technology, Learning & Development and the Assistant Vice President, the Assistant Director is responsible for the on-going assessment, design, and development and implementation of corporate - wide training curricula. Specifically, manage and direct the Instructional Designers, Facility Credential Trainers and Credential Trainers in their efforts of developing curricula, instructing enterprise end-users in the use and functionality of the H2O / Epic application and other integrated applications. Identify supplemental learning resources to assist end-users in mastering their use of but not limited to the EMR. Identify opportunities to advance the accessibility of all Applications Learning's WebEx sessions, training resources, and e-Learnings. This role is not exclusively a remote assignment, an on-site presence is necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist Instructional Designers in analyzing and documenting business requirements and processes; communicate requirements through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts.
  • Coordinate projects, priorities, performance reporting related to the clinical EMR & other applications
  • Develop status reports and perform risk analysis to inform both Business and Executive Sponsors of the status of EMR or any other application training.
  • Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to assess business and clinical needs; create training documentation based on role, scope of practice and in accordance with departmental protocol/standards.
  • Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other non-functional requirements.
  • Provide project management team with identified risks, concerns, and ambiguities discovered during the gathering of requirements; assist team in developing training solutions.
  • Partner with project managers to complete requirements documentation in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups as well as oversee and execute follow-up activities.
  • Develop and execute project presentations.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Provide training to and serve as a mentor for Instructional Designers, Credential Trainers, and Facility Credential Trainers and/or other appropriate project team members; manage and evaluate work products for assigned team members.
  • Lead the training, development, and implementation of process improvements for all projects and applications.
  • Interview potential candidates for full-time positions.
  • Due to the responsibilities of your position, you will be required to work beyond your regularly scheduled hours
  • This role is hybrid remote and up to 50%-60% on-site dependent on ongoing training initiatives. The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform required work within 48 hours.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare, Hospital, Public or Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior or a related discipline and three (3) years of full-time experience planning, developing and monitoring programs, systems and/or procedures in support of administrative management initiatives, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above and four (4) years of full-time experience, as outlined in "1" above, two (2) years of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Department Preferences

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses:
  • EPIC EMR application certification preferred


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:
  • Clinical Background (preferred)
  • End User /Student training experience required


Years of Experience:
  • 3+ years experience with Epic EMR and/or other clinical applications
