A leading energy efficiency engineering, environmental, and management consulting firm is seeking a talented Electrical Designer/Engineer to join their design team Fairfax, VA! They are looking for candidates with 2-3 years of residential electrical design experience to work on new residential construction projects that include both single-family homes and multi-unit apartments. Pay Range: $60, 000 - $70, 000 DOE

Responsibilities:

• Prepare one-line diagrams and electrical layouts with minimal guidance from engineers
• Respond to RFIs and review project submittals efficiently
• Address installation challenges with electrical systems, including on-site resolutions
• Develop floor plans detailing electrical layouts, fixtures, and equipment
• Generate electrical load calculations and panel schedules
• Draft specifications and schedules for electrical materials and equipment
• Design fire alarm layouts and select equipment with limited oversight
• Apply risk management strategies to minimize potential project issues
• Manage the design process to adhere to project timelines
• Liaise with contractors for seamless design implementation and resolution of issues
• Ensure quality deliverables to and from clients and encourage inter-disciplinary coordination
• Communicate with Operations, Owners, and Subcontractors to ensure project success

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in designing single-family, 3-story townhouses, 4-story townhouses, and multi-family apartment buildings
• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Ability to work in a team-first environment with open communication
• E.I.T. Certification is a plus
• P.E. License is a plus
• Experience with small commercial projects (tenant fit-outs, lounges, offices, restaurants) is a plus
