Electrical Engineer, Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging

The Electrical Engineer designs automated packaging platforms and supporting systems to enable faster and more efficient delivery to Amazon's customers.
The primary role of the Electrical Engineer is to provide electrical engineering expertise and refinement of the packaging platforms and automation systems. Working with the Mechanical and Controls teams, the Electrical Engineer will execute the design and manufacturing of Amazon's in-house packaging machinery and automation.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design and execute packaging machinery and automation projects
- Collaborate in the electrical design work-streams, including panel design, power calculations, safety analysis, and schematics
- Ensure project documentation is complete and scalable for manufacturing
- Support safety certification of projects/platforms
- Participate in meetings to optimize for customer experience, supply chain, and sustainability
About the team
The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team develops automated solutions and sustainable packaging across Amazon's operations, focusing on customer experience and waste reduction.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- BA in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- 4+ years working in industrial machinery design experience
- Knowledge of certification requirements (UL, CSA, CE)
- Industrial programming experience (HMI, PLC, Motion)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
- Operations experience in a manufacturing environment
