The Electrical Engineering Technologist will be responsible for the implementation and improvement of existing electronic products and processes for energy products. Looking for an ambitious self-starting person who is willing to learn and work independently to troubleshoot PCBA and controller assemblies. Under the direction of the Cell Manager Electronics, the Electrical Engineering Technologist will be responsible for performing circuit board and controller repairs as identified throughout the manufacturing/testing process via test equipment and visual inspection per IPC Standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Deep dive, troubleshoot, root cause production failures of PCBA and controller assemblies
Circuit board and controller rework/repair for small day-to-day quantities along with potential larger quantity rework projects.
Report on any common trends and findings with root cause analysis of all failures internal and external to the department.
Communicate trending product issues to operators, manufacturing support, and design engineering staff.
Strong understanding of IPC inspection and process definition.
Ability to solder fine components on a PCB to determine component functionality (this can be taught on the job)
Mechanical aptitude to understand potential failures related to testing equipment

Required Skills & Experience

1-2 years of previous work in Electrical Engineering or a recent grad with B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
Strong communication skills.
Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other similar electronic equipment.
Knowledge and understanding of electronic testing and analysis to the component level.
Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
Microsoft Office experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Electronics experience or previous Electronic Technician roles are desirable\ Previous IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification. Any other IPC certifications a plus
Soldering skills, including fine-pitch QFP/QFN SMT packages
Familiarity with serial protocols
