Electrical Estimator

Volt is immediately hiring for an Electrical Estimator to join the team located in NW Houston, TX with a Construction Services & Power Generation company in the Water/Wastewater and Oil & Gas markets.

As an Electrical Estimator you will:

• Review industrial building plans to determine the electrical needs of purposed projects.
• Evaluates bid documents to determine overall scope of project.
• Determines all documentation required for bid submittal; determines who should review or contribute information necessary to complete bid.
• Reviews plans and specifications to identify types and grades of materials, what quotes to solicit, and what resources will be required to complete bid in compliance with project requirements and bid deadlines.
• May attend pre-bid meetings or job interviews as required.
• Contacts vendors and reviews plans and specifications to obtain vendor quotes.
• Reviews quoted bill of material for accuracy.

This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar studies.
• Water/Wastewater plants and oil/gas facilities experience is a must.
• Experienced with Blue Beam and/or Accubid is a must.
• 4+ years minimum experience estimating projects in Oil & Gas and water wastewater preferably.
• Knowledge of tools and principles involved in production of electrical plans, blueprints and drawings.
• Please be able to showcase past wins for electrical estimations
• Field experience is desired
• Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications and change orders.
• Thorough knowledge of the electrical field with familiarity in materials and construction methods.
• Knowledgeable of the N.E.C and local codes.
• Knowledge of estimating principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• Knowledge of suppliers and supplier data bases applicable to project specifications

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000/year*

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
