Electrical Maintenance Technician (Night Shift) - Modesto, CA - Immediate Opening

Do you enjoy troubleshooting, repairing, and completing preventative maintenance on machinery? Have you worked in an industrial or manufacturing environment? If so, Georgia-Pacific has an immediate need for a Multi-Craft Maintenance Electrician at our Modesto, CA facility. We are looking for a highly skilled individual who can troubleshoot and perform maintenance on manufacturing equipment and has a thorough understanding of safe work practices. This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals.

This position offers a competitive benefits package with starting hourly rate of $48.26/hr. (Orientation and training will be on 1st shift)



  • Night shift 7pm-7am (two-week rotation)
    • Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday
    • Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday

What You Will Do In Your Role
  • Troubleshoot electrical and/or mechanical problems and repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Complete mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated systems with remote technical support
  • Help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals through a quality maintenance program
  • Install and repair electrical and mechanical components, welding, and fabrication of materials
  • Understand knowledge and safe work practices involving electrical and mechanical machinery and lock out tag out processes


The Experience You Will Bring (Basic Qualifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) or more years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
  • One (1) year or more of experience troubleshooting PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers)
  • Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices involving voltage from 50 volts to 480 volts
  • Experience reading technical electrical drawings and schematics
  • Experience in mechanical fabrication and repair, replacing components
  • Experience in fast-paced troubleshooting environment to repair equipment efficiently with electrical and mechanical issues


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Electrical Certification, Industrial Maintenance Technician Certification, technical schooling earned or other related educational certifications/degrees
  • Experience with VFD's, drives, relays, safety circuits, conduit installation and electrical wiring
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical components on machinery and/ or wiring
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • One (1) year or more of experience in a corrugated manufacturing facility


For this role, we anticipate paying $48.26 per hour. This role is eligible for an additional $.50 per hour while working on 2nd shift and $.75 per hour while working on 3rd shift.
