Your Tasks
  • Hybrid role
  • Southfield, MI or DePere, WI
  • Analyze customer technical specifications
  • Support proposal development and strategy with technical input
  • Develop initial design and equipment selection
    • Process flow and Network Diagrams
  • Initiate technical risk analysis
  • Coordinate in-house estimating activities including relevant drawings and specifications
  • Identify and scope major subcontracts including electrical fabrication and installations
  • Developed Purchased Equipment lists
  • Develop detailed estimate spreadsheets for project and customer bid forms
  • Investigate alternate sources for equipment and subcontractors
  • Develop technical specifications and clarifications for bids
  • Develop preliminary project schedule and durations for the electrical project scope
  • Develop technical knowledge with other members of the Electrical Engineering team, delegate and mange workload as capacity dictates
  • Finalize project sell value with Sales and Application Engineering teams
  • Coordinate project handover
  • Support project implementation by attending planning meetings, design reviews, etc.
  • Conduct technical presentations and provide clarification to customers and other departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in industrial machinery design
  • Working knowledge of Combustion Systems (natural gas, fuel oil and propane burners, propane evaporators, burner management systems and combustion blowers)
  • Working knowledge of Fans/Motors/VFD's
  • Electrical Control Systems
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Ability to understand fabrication and field installation criteria and the ability to development preliminary scopes of work for outside pricing activities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Able to technically define problems and propose solutions
