As an Electrical Systems Technician at John Zink in Tulsa, OK, your main tasks will include performing equipment checkouts to ensure compliance with customer specifications, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems, coordinating and scheduling checkout activities, and maintaining accurate documentation. Effective communication with team members and customers is essential in providing updates and addressing any concerns. Collaboration with other technicians and departments is encouraged to resolve complex issues and improve equipment performance. Lastly, following safety protocols and procedures will be crucial to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Shift: First

What You Will Do
  • Perform mechanical, functional equipment checkouts to ensure proper performance and compliance with customer specifications and expectations
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems, including testing circuits, inspecting components, and verifying connections
  • Coordinate and schedule checkout activities to optimize efficiency and ensure on-time delivery
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding equipment status and any issues encountered
  • Maintain accurate documentation of equipment checkouts, including test results and any necessary repairs or adjustments
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to resolve complex technical issues or improve equipment performance
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Functional understanding of valving and instrumentation, such as transmitters, flow meters, switches, actuators, etc
  • Familiarity with industrial control panels and the tools most commonly associated with them, ie digital multimeter.
  • Experience reading and troubleshoot electrical schematics.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience reading P&ID and mechanical drawings
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and other common industrial control devices (HMI's, VFD's...etc).
